The VAF Foundation, alongside the Prize of the same name that has been dedicated for years to artists under 40, in 2021 decided to establish the series Young Artists on the Threshold of the New Millennium, dedicated more generally to emerging artists, where the adjective "young" does not have a strictly anagraphic character, but intends to indicate those who are not yet sufficiently established. These are agile but in-depth monographs that analyze the work of an author and outline its expressive characteristics, placing it in the contemporary artistic panorama.

The seventh volume of the series entitled Jacopo Mazzonelli Double silence, to be released in October 2023, is edited by Daniela Ferrari with texts by J. Bianchera, D. Capra, D. Cascella, M. Cavallarin, B. Della Casa, M. de Pilati, L. Fassi, D. Ferrari, F. Guerisoli, C. Ianeselli, D. Isaia, G. Landi, R. Martin, T. Nabiuzzi, M. Schoofs, E. L. Scipioni, M. Tagliaferro, K. Wolbert.

Jacopo Mazzonelli (Trento, 1983) creates sculptures, installations and performances that investigate the broad border area between visual arts and music. His research uses techniques and methodologies borrowed from different disciplines. Working on the interpretation and visualization of the sound dimension, the artist deals with tools that he deconstructs, transforms and recomposes. At the center of his interest is the “musical gesture”, the investigations into the perception of rhythm and the becoming of time. He has held solo exhibitions in Italy and abroad and, in collaboration with the composer Matteo Franceschini, since 2017 he has created a dense series of performance projects of which, together with the pianist Eleonora Wegher, he is also a direct interpreter.
